More often than not, startups founded by a woman, are brushed off as lifestyle companies. \u2018Business light.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">In response to these challenges many women have started banding together to form start-up support groups, business \u201cincubators\u201d, and venture capital firms to help raise money to invest in other woman-run enterprises.\u00a0 \u201cThe challenge is for entrepreneurs who don\u2019t fit the standard Silicon Valley profile (single white male) to overcome their own cupcake challenge by bringing successful, scalable, high-return businesses to the investing table.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">These determined female entrepreneurs are inspiring; and the U.S. isn\u2019t the only place where determined business-women can be found.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/life\/books\/news\/2011-03-15-dressmaker15_ST_N.htm?sms_ss=email&amp;at_xt=4d7fd4506e5917f0%2C0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A new book by Gayle Tzemach Lemmon<\/a>, <em>The Dressmaker of Khair Khana: Five Sisters, One Remarkable Family, and the Woman Who Risked Everything to Keep Them Safe<\/em>, tells the true story of Kamila Sidiqi, a remarkable Afghan woman who, at age 19, began a dressmaking business to support her family and dozens of neighbors after the Taliban took control of her city and essentially forbid women to attend schools or work outside the home.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/updates\/world\/jan-june11\/afghandress_03-23.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kamila Sidiqi\u2019s story<\/a> has a happy ending, as do the stories of the women listed in the Forbes gallery <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/2011\/03\/22\/women-owned-business-mompreneur-to-watch-forbes-woman-entrepreneurs-startups_slide.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ten Female Entrepreneurs and Mompreneurs to Watch<\/a>; but many women who attempt to start their own businesses don\u2019t find their stories ending as happily.\u00a0 This is why so many successful female entrepreneurs choose to give back to the community of women.\u00a0 Many of the women listed in the Forbes article either invest in start-ups owned by other women, or belong to enterprises whose goal is to help raise money to finance women in business.\u00a0 Even Kamila Sidiqi \u201cis now running her own consultancy firm, Kaweyan, aimed at helping women start their own enterprises.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;
